The Edmonton Oilers acquired forwards Trent Frederic and Max Jones and the rights to unsigned forward Petr Hauser on Tuesday in a three-team trade with the New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins.

The defending Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers made their first big move ahead of the NHL trade deadline by acquiring hard-nosed forward Trent Frederic from the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.

For a while, the New Jersey Devils had been linked to Boston Bruins forward, Trent Frederic. A Devils trade made that a reality, but only for a moment, as New Jersey facilitated a trade that sent the former Bruin to the Edmonton Oilers.
