Volkanovski is trying to reclaim the championship he held for over four years. After winning the Featherweight title in December 2019, he was knocked out by Topuria at UFC 296 in February 2024. During his title reign, the Aussie also tried to win the Lightweight title, losing to Islam Makhachev, twice.
