Manufacturers in India would need to double production to meet US iPhone demand—and the shift still wouldn’t solve Apple’s China problem.

Apple could be sourcing its entire line of iPhones for the US market -- about 60 million devices a year -- from assembly facilities in India by the end of 2026, according to a report from the Financial Times.

Apple plans to shift the assembly of all iPhones sold in the U.S. to India as early as next year, pivoting away from China to avoid steep tariffs, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
