Montreal is one of five stops on the Formula 1 calendar in North America, alongside Miami, Austin and Las Vegas, and Mexico City’s Grand Prix.

F1 have made a huge announcement on the future of the Canadian Grand Prix following a chaotic end to this year's event at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The legacy track, previously known as Ile Notre-Dame Circuit will now remain on the ever-growing sporting calendar until at least 2035,

First appearing on the schedule in 1967, the Canadian Grand Prix is the longest-running race on the F1 calendar outside of Europe, and last week’s installment was the 54th edition of the Grand Prix. The race moved to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, its current home, in 1978.
