More than 10,000 Air Canada flight attendants will continue their strike despite back-to-work orders from the Canadian government, the Air Canada component of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) said Sunday.

Air Canada flight attendants defied a government order to end their strike, forcing cancellation of 240 flights and stranding over 100,000 passengers nationwide.

Flight attendants for Canada's largest carrier, Air Canada, will continue to strike despite a back-to-work order issued by the Canadian government, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) said in a statement Sunday.
