CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. (KRDO) - Colorado's beloved "Ice Castles" attraction has finally returned after a three-year hiatus, but this time it has a new home on the western slope in Cripple Creek.

There are 58 towers on the Lincoln castle, plus a waterfall and an enclosed slide. At night, the castles are lit by color-changing LED lights embedded in the ice.

The Ice Castles location in Eagle CBS The castle in Eagle is set to open on Dec. 20, and crews hope the castle will make it all the way into March, so long as the weather cooperates.

The Ice Castles organization crystallized into a business in 2011 after creator, Brent Christensen, found a way to enjoy winter with his kids following a move from sunny California to Utah.
