The United Nations criticized Israel for its ban on aid in hearings at the International Court of Justice. Israel did not send a legal delegation and rejected the proceedings as biased.

The U.N. had asked the International Court of Justice for an advisory opinion on Israel’s obligations to facilitate aid under international law.

Israel was on Monday accused of using its aid blockade on Gaza as a “weapon of war,” as a week of hearings over its humanitarian obligations began in The Hague.
