Police raced to the scene of a crash on the M6 when a car flipped over onto its roof - one lane of the motorway has been closed as officers carry out an investigation

Police have warned a stretch of the M6 will remain closed for 'a number of hours' following a serious collision in North Staffordshire. Emergency services had descended on the southbound carriageway at around 10.20pm last night where at the height of the incident the motorway was shut off in both directions.

Motorists on the M6 are being warning to face major disruption 'throughout the day' as the motorway is closed off following a fatal crash. Emergency services were called to reports of a serious collision between a lorry and car shortly before 10pm last night (February 27).
