The Boston Celtics defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 118-116, on Friday night at Smoothie King Center. Avoiding what would have been a bad loss, Boston escaped with its 34th win of the season which ranks second in the Eastern Conference standings.

For the third consecutive year, the NBA All-Star Game will feature two Boston Celtics. Jaylen Brown was announced Thursday as one of the seven All-Star reserves from the Eastern Conference. It was the third straight All-Star nod and fourth in the last five years for Brown,
