An off-duty Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed in a targeted ambush outside his Belle Glade home late Monday, the Sheriff’s Office said.

An off-duty Palm Beach County corrections deputy was fatally shot in a "targeted incident." Despite emergency transport to a hospital, the 39-year-old was pronounced dead. No suspect details have been released.

The shooting was targeted, the sheriff's office says. It has not identified the deputy but said he was 39 years old and was with PBSO for three years.
