Goldberg's legendary career has come to a close, but not without some controversy. The WWE Hall of Famer had his final bout Saturday, losing to Gunther at Satur
Bill Goldberg waved goodbye to professional wrestling, but he might not be the only absent superstar after WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Seth Rollins seemingly suffered a knee injury during his match with LA Knight, bringing an abrupt end to their match.
Once Saturday Night's Main Event was off the air, Gunther offered his candid assessment of Goldberg's career in the ring. The world heavyweight champion was a guest on WWE's SNME recap show with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant and had the final word on his rivalry with the Hall of Famer.
While he expressed that he’s happy with how the match went and enjoyed wrestling Gunther, Goldberg says he’s “pissed off” with many aspects of his final run in WWE. He mentioned not being happy that his final match was on live television rather than a PLE, where they would have more control over time.
His son, Gage Goldberg, is gearing up for a shot at the NFL. But if that path doesn’t pan out for whatever reason, he’s got his sights set on WWE. Yep, Gage could be carrying on his dad’s legacy right in the ring. It’ll be wild to see how things shake out, and if he does make the leap to wrestling, can he live up to the Goldberg name?
Gage Goldberg, who witnessed his father's final match against Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 13, 2025, was mentioned by Triple H following WWE Evolution. Even though Gage is currently concentrating on playing football, Triple H claimed to be able to see his passion for wrestling.
