CORRECTIONS DIVISION - Gcso
The Corrections Division includes the Genesee County Jail, Flint City Lockup, Work Detail, Tether, and Work Release. The Genesee County Jail is a direct supervision facility with a max capacity of 580 inmates.

The Genesee County Paramedic Division has set a regional standard for providing both police and medical services to Genesee County residents. The Office of Genesee County Sheriff is one of the only agencies in the state where officers are also paramedics.

ELDER ABUSE TASK FORCE - Gcso
Sheriff Robert J. Pickell (retired) founded the Elder Abuse Task Force in 2008 to address abuse and financial exploitation of Genesee County seniors. Specially trained Investigators, Prosecutors, and Social-Workers under the direction of th e Probate Court are dedicated to investigating and prosecuting allegations involving local seniors.
